D1 Friday: Arrive in Mali Your international flight arrives in Bamako; airport-to-hotel transfer; overnight in Bamako (Grand Hotel, or similar) D2 Saturday: Bamako - Timbuktu - Sahara desert (B,D) Transfer to the airport for your early morning flight to Timbuktu; meet your Tuareg guide and after lunch, meet your camel caravan and depart into the desert; dinner and overnight camping in Ercle n'Walan oasis D3 Sunday: Ouam, Awdeche El Batalah (B,L,D) D4 Monday: Agani Albaa (B,L,D) D5 Tuesday: Awreywir, Hassi, Bondeye (B,L,D) D6 Wednesday: Tin Adare Tirrikene (B,L,D) D7 Thursday: Nebkatte, Jamaa Tirikene (B,L,D) D8 Friday: Return to Timbuktu (B,L) Continue to and arrive in Timbuktu at day's end; overnight in Timbuktu (Hotel Hendrina Khan, or similar) D9 Saturday: Timbuktu (B) Full day in Timbuktu to visit this former metropolis at the edge of the desert: visit the ancient mosques and former universities, the museum, the explorers' houses, the city market, the artisans' center; overnight in Timbuktu (Hotel Hendrina Khan, or similar) D10 Sunday: Timbuktu - Bamako (B) Early morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Bamako; check into your hotel day room and take the rest of the day at leisure; overnight in Bamako (Grand Hotel, or similar) D11 Monday: Bamako - final departure (B) Bamako city tour in the morning: visit the Muso Kounda Museum, the city market, the artisans' village; in the evening, transfer to the airport for your final departure B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner NB: camping is no frills, sleeping on a ground mattress in a small tent; there are no campgrounds, so no running water, no latrines. Camping in Mali is not recommended for inexperienced campers.
