Camel Caravan expedition in the Sahara Desert :

Every tour is private, scheduled on dates of your choice, beginning and ending on a Monday in Bamako; there are no fixed-date scheduled departures.
Contact us for prices. Groups of any size are welcome. Be sure to specify the month/year of travel, and how many persons are in your partyprices are digressive, so a better value per person for a party of four than a party of two, etc.
Regretfully this desert tour is temporarily unavailable, due to insecurity in the desert.

D1 Monday: Arrive in Bamako, MALI
Your international flight arrives in Bamako in the evening; airport-to-hotel transfer; overnight in Bamako (Grand Hotel, or similar)
D2 Tuesday: Bamako - Timbuktu / Sahara Desert
Morning flight to Timbuktu; meet your Tuareg guide and your camel caravan, and depart into the Sahara Desert; dinner and overnight camping at Ouma Dawach oasis
with Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
D3-D9 Wednesday-Tuesday: In the Sahara Desert, vast ocean of sand; overnight camping on the dunes

Full days in Timbuktu, to visit this legendary city and center of Islamic scholarship on the edge of the desert; visit the old mosques (former universities), the museum containing hundreds of ancient manuscripts, the explorers' houses, the city market, the artisans' center; option: excursion on the Niger River in a traditional pirogue to see hippos; overnight in Timbuktu (Hotel Hendrina Khan, or similar)

D21 Sunday: Timbuktu - Bamako
Early morning transfer to the airport for your return flight to Bamako; check into your hotel and take the rest of the day at leisure; overnight in Bamako (Grand Hotel, or similar)

D22 Monday: Bamako - final departure
Bamako city tour in the morning: visit the Muso Kounda Museum, the city market, the artisans' village; in the evening, transfer to the airport for your final departure

NB: camping is no frills, sleeping on a ground mattress in a small tent; there are no campgrounds, so no running water, no latrines. Camping in Mali is not recommended for inexperienced campers.
NB: Domestic flights are subject to availability; if flights are not available, add two days for roundtrip overland transportation to/from Timbuktu.
