Every tour is private, scheduled on dates of your choice, beginning on a Friday and ending on a Thursday in Bamako; there are no fixed-date scheduled departures.
Contact us for prices. Groups of any size are welcome. Be sure to specify the month/year of travel, and how many persons are in your party—prices are digressive, so a better value per person for a party of four than a party of two, etc.
Regretfully this desert tour is temporarily unavailable, due to insecurity in the desert.

Bamako – Timbuktu (by air) – Sahara Desert Morning flight to Timbuktu; meet your Tuareg guide and depart into the desert by 4-WD vehicle; dinner and overnight camping at the beautiful oasis Dweya |

Sahara desert – Araouane Continue to Lahseïni and N'Karibat, where you will meet the Tuareg residents of these desert oases; lunch and rest stop at Taganet; then continue to Araouane, arriving around sunset; experience desert hospitality with a welcome dinner hosted by the village chief; overnight camping |

Araouane – Sahara desert Visit Araouane in the morning; after lunch depart to Bou'Ddjebeha; you will cross the most beautiful section of the Azaouad plateau, with undulating sand dunes stretching to the horizon; arrive in Bou'Djebeha in the late afternoon; welcome dinner with the village chief; overnight camping |

Sahara desert – Timbuktu Departure after breakfast; around noon arrive at Tin Téhoun oasis for a rest stop and lunch; then continue and arrive in Timbuktu at day's end; overnight in Timbuktu |

Bamako / final departure Bamako city tour in the morning: visit the Muso Kounda Museum, the city market, the artisans' village; in the evening, transfer to the airport |

NB: camping is no frills, sleeping on a ground mattress in a small tent; there are no campgrounds, so no running water, no latrines. Camping in Mali is not recommended for inexperienced campers.
NB: Domestic flights are subject to availability; if flights are not available, add two days for roundtrip overland transportation to/from Timbuktu.

- 3 nights camping in the desert; bring your sleeping bags, other camping gear provided
- all-inclusive desert excursion: 4-WD desert vehicles with fuel and drivers; Tuareg desert guide; camp cook; all meals (outlined above) and bottled mineral water in the desert
- military escort in the desert
- all hotel taxes, local tourism taxes and site visit fees, as per tour program
- airport transfers for international arrival and departure in Mali (Bamako)
The price does not include international travel to/from Bamako; Mali visas; non-specified meals, drinks/bottled water; sleeping bags; tips and personal expenses.
